Container vacation house competition

The objective of this competition: to construct a house from shipping containers on the eastern edge of Bondi Beach in Sydney with a maximum area of 250 sq m. The solution: combinations of standard sized large (12m length) and small (6m length) containers at ground floor level. Circulation between levels provided by a container on end for a lift shaft and a container on a slope for a stairwell with 3 large containers for bedrooms elevated above an open landscaped mid level and top level roof garden. ESD features include:21 photovoltaic panels total 5.25kwh solar panels, 3 kw wind turbine, 40kw wave power buoy.
